Your build doesn’t have deadly brew,dual wield spec or elusiveness. Gl getting kited by everything,doing lower damage and living for 1.5mins for the next cloak.

Akrios, don’t you think that mages can just “fake” blink you and deny a spring restealth if their not retarded and know how you react to blinks? Despite your objections to reaction in duels (gouging a trinket on CS) your run behind blink trick(and portal) is just as, if not more, flawed?!?

if that happens, the mage blinks forward (conventionally) and I am far enough to get a restealth. if he goes to a side or backwards the trick is effective. If they don’t blink they eat too much damage, I might look like an idiot once but if I know they won’t blink it won’t work twice. Obviously it doesn’t work perfectly all the time, but there aren’t too many downsides to it. And ya basically when I was advocating reaction over prediction I meant when possible, ie. if you have a choice to guess or react, react. Prediction is an important part of general game play.

Just out of curiosity, how is the trick still effective if the mage blinks to the side? It gives him the same distance, except instead you are running perpendicular away from him.

After this video and the reaction post there came a a question in my mind… Do you still enjoy this game? Like professional footbal players etc, playing footbal every day, match after match… The way you play wow is very similar, season after season, get the gear, create movies, write posts, and you are also work as a gm as I know… So wow still an enjoyable hobby or became a common part of your everyday life? People saying “holy crap, Vanish death coils!”, it’s all about reading your opponent. When a warlock has 40%’ish health it’s obvious the death coil will come soon.
Besides, by the look of the figths, i’d say he has met those people quite a few times, thus learned how they react and play.

Srsly your reactions are insane, I can’t imagine, that you vanished those DCs and blinds out of pure reaction…must be prediction or luck
Also you are icecold (compared to me) like in the fight vs Mahiko you ate behind that pillar and stealthed + opener right after the blink…I know if I would have been you I would’ve failed the restealth miserably (dot on him) and died…

Little tip to Night elfs rogues, or just any night elf really; You can “dodge” any casting things such as Death coils and stuff like that with Shadowmeld. Just use it right before the spell hits you, and you can dodge it. Quite useful really.

The thing about your videos that makes me want to watch the whole thing, aside from the obvious skills, is the slow-mo and the nice camera angles. If u were still on guru. i guess i could learn a quite a lot from u in terms of arenas etc.
I play a mage, just hit 80 like 3 days ago, just wondering what itemization should the mage go for in arenas? (assuming rogue/mage set-up) all pve-gear?…i dunno…since arena is rly burst dependent now.

another great movie from the arenas series – good music choice, Rogue FFA was cool but i dont think that vanishing the Death coils was based on a reaction, cause simply its possible for someone to react that fast when the coil is comming from melee range-for me it was pure prediction. Still the thing is that you have predicted well your oponent’s reaction and it worked every time probably because of your experience and having played against shiol be4 as well.Other than that awesome vid.Expecting the world pvp movie

or you got any other suggestions for a 2v2 partner .. coz on my server there are seriously 0 skilled mages ok… 1 but he is alrdy at 2500 rating so thats not really an option.

omg that was some sic shit!!! my fave so far, loved the scenes with the bike, and the FFA at the end was leet. Im a metalhead to the core but i really enjoyed the music, it all fit so perfectly. hi akrios i must say i have always enjoyed your movies, but honestly this video deserves 3/5 from me, i mean theres nothing new in it except the ffa highlights at end which was pretty awesome :b
its the same all the way through, allright u vanish deathcoils etc but that is getting OLD! and when you show some 2v2 clips try and show some fights versus harder combos like dk/druid and pala/druid etc.. nice video but overrated imo.

Hey akrioss nice movie as usual. I’m just curious as to why you don’t use engineering goggles despite having the profession? the majority of rogues i see in arena do have it so it seems as if you are giving yourself a disadvantage against other rogues? How do you play to counter goggles?
also any tips on positioning in arena to maximize getting a sap and not getting sapped myself.

The dodge you gain from ability’s and your base agility are not affected by diminishing returns.
The dodge you gain from additional agility and dodge rating (same for parry and miss) is affected by diminishing returns in a way that you gain less dodge per point of agility the more agility you have.
This is to prevend rogues from tanking like they did in tbc.

in all honesty this is one of my weakest points in arena, I often get sapped and lose games because of it. From everyone I’ve asked and talked to it seems to be pretty random, of course being a nelf or human helps. I personally just dislike using goggles, something about it feels cheap to me but they are very useful and effective, especially if you know you’re going to be playing a rogue team.

Ya i can understand not liking it for that, but there’s a limited amount of creativity you can have. People always ask for something new but there isn’t always something new to show, and it’s not really something you can force. I choose clips based on entertainment more than for difficult comps, because tbh even when you play perfect and win against a lot of dk teams or healer / plate teams it simply looks messy and isn’t fun to watch. To each their own I guess.

i run anywhere from 50-200 latency depending on my net, i did the reg edit about a month ago and it helped a lot (average from 150-250 went to 50-100)

i think 1280×960 or around there with max settings, I have a decent comp ( 2 year old dual core with 8800 gt) but don’t forget in the video itself I use some effects at times to make things look a bit better (Ie. light rays, adjusting contrast, etc)

The blink prediction at the beginning was godly, i was like o.0, but then it struck me why would the mage blink towards you unless he was going for the frost nova for higher damage.. just a thought, GJ.

blinding/vanishing trinkets is all reflexs and predicting.
i have amamzing reflexs, so i use this to my advantage, were has unmercey has learned the predicting way to perfection.
all you have to do is learn the other player, like in rogue Duels/ vs rogues in arena.
Every, almost every, rogue will trinket CS if not a second into KS, if it is up that is.
so i usually pre-gouge, which is CS behind the target then walk to the front spamming gouge. This works 50% of the time because some rogues jut dont trinket CS.
Also, you could watch your CS/KS very very closely and RIGHT when you see that button disappear if the timer isnt up Blind or vanish. This works for me every time, because like i said i have amazing reflexs.(why i never get in crashs =P)

against mages why do you target the pet? is that just you tabbing or what..?
and after you sap a mage why does your stealth break? you get a free re stealth but I think in the video the mage trinketed the sap and got you in combat.
i love your videos, they are very entertaining and i always learn a lot =) the FFA at the end makes me want to get together with some of my friends and have at it =)
