My Thoughts on the Video

Starting with another epic intro by bizzlsnaff this movie is one I had no trouble watching start to finish, it kept me entertained the whole way. It clearly focus on some of Unmercy’s signature moves, found throughout arena, duels, and some bgs (don’t expect many bg clips but the druid waving was more than epic).

What separates Unmercy’s recent vids from other WOTLK pvp videos is the he has a lot of creativity. A lot of these moves are very situational, but FoK vanish sapping or situation ally ambushing and re-saping can definantly have practicle applications in duels or arena, as we can see here. Practical or not it sure is fun to watch.

I talked about prediction in the past and Unmercy is someone who kind of plays with it big time. The thing is that he does it well. I still don’t think gouging intro cheap shot is the correct choice but it clearly works for him as he does it consistently. He also does a lot of prediction on blinding trinkets out of stun. It seems to me he has ingrained prediction so deep into his game play that there is some standardization to it, i.e. if he always gouges into cs a rogue can never early trinket cs. I guess It’s something to consider.

In any case this is one of my favorite rogue vids of the expansion thus far and is definantly worth a watch.

  7. Bar you Akrios, Unmercey is my favourite movie producer of WotLK. You both show incredible skill with prediction and reaction. I love the videos so keep them coming, both of you :D

    I asked a question over on the FAQ page but I don’t think its gonna get answered so I’ll ask here. I’m kind of starting off my own movie making and recently completed a some what experimental rogue pvp vid of my own. Wcm rejected it due to file size so have you got any tips for rendering that would help me out?

Ye he is wery skilled but you know what is the poblem.I dont think im IBMA or great i think im a ok rogue,but he das stuff i can never do reason:INTERNET my MS in like 300 so when he dso vanish sap form me will be VANISH FAIL.i tried many many ways to inpruve my internet das not work.So ye he is skilled but internet helps a lot also.
    He says like o.1sec immune vanish i now that but i have to be a mind reader and do it like 1/2 sec befour he is going to do any thing.

  14. plenty of ways this is possible.
    but there are lots of factors that would have to be involved.
    1 AMAZING internet.
    2 AMAZING ping.
    3 luck.
    4 having sap under your vanish so you can spam that button. or make a macro so when you go out of stealth it saps him.
    5 yes, with all this it is possible. you have a .1sec timing before the target goes into combat. So, you would have to Hit Ambush then be spaming vanish/sap at the very same time, more or less.

    idk if all this would work. sorry for the bad english :P

  15. If a rogue is dueling 1v1 and the rogue vanishes, it drops combat for both players. Irregardless, if it’s a 1v1 and a rogue is stealthed at all, that means the other player is not in combat.

  19. no, because, like hitting two trinkets that have the same Global and everything, it is still possible. it would have to require the .1sec right before the global goes up. or it could just be a glich he figured out and all this is bullshit. lol ^.^

  20. yes, the Global is a obstical(no clue how to spell it D:) but i figured out, this is with Cheap shot instead of sap, if you make a macro like this

    /cast Vanish
    /stopattack
    /cast cheap shot

    it will not only vanish but the second you vanish it Cheap shots even though the global is suppose to not allow this to happen

  39. Still haven’t been able to do this with 100ping. I Ambush>Vanish right after and start spamming sap … Tells me target is still in combat. I use to play war3 so i am very quick on the keys, i don’t think i can input commands any faster. There has to be some sort of trick or macro.

  48. great magicians never reveal their tricks! i really hope akrios or unmercey would not be as arrogant/selfish to want to save that trick for themselves =p
    it would be nice anyway.

    i tried it a few times last night by making a vanish+sap macro on my stealth bar and hitting ambush and spamming that in quick succession.. out of 10 tries it only worked once. my ping is 250~

  50. Im guessing the mage put his pet on passive right before Unmercy kicked him. So the kick had no effect since the elemental wasnt casting anything, therefore allowing him to freeze.

    I’m trying to get a pvp video going, but my computer can’t run it unless I run at like the 13xx/12xx(wide) setting, and a ton of settings set to low…
    Should I drop my fraps saving setting to Half-Size? Or does that complete ruin the quality of the video? Thanks.

  60. Its freaking annoying that some ppl instead of reading all posts keep spamming the same shit !

    It’s pretty simple to do this move with very very low ms ( i mean it ) .. like what , like when you play from the server’s console , how ? simple – try to download an offline or Private server , then connect to wow from your server – try this with like 0 ms :) it’ll work 11 times out of 10 .. be happy ..

  61. If a rogue vanishes 1v1, the other person does not leave combat, only the rogue. The thing he does in the video is based on latency. Pull out a macro and you will be able to ambush and get a quick vanish for a sap before the servers catches the information. I’ve tried it and it works, but i can promise you that there is no chance in hell that it will work if your latency is (~0). Since unmerecy is from USA i guess he has some latency, since the country it self is so big.

    Manually hit sap with another button.

    Works 100/100 times…

    but don’t abuse it and certainly don’t put it in another PVP video… It’s a good trick and i’ve used it since wotlk’s shipping but KEEP IT ON THE DOWNLOW SO IT DOESN’T GET NERFED.

    It’s a great way to fight Destro locks in duels *23khp+succy* ended up starting the fight with 13 health. Unbeatable huh?

    just doing a macro:

    /cast ambush
    /cast vanish

    and then spam ur sap.
    That’s all..

    Insta sap after vanish.

    i tryed a lot of times with 300+ latency
    and it works.

  71. I have noticed on most rogue rogue videos i have watched most abilities are bunched up rather than along action bars and i assume hotkeys are used for abilities. I have never used many hotkeys and would like to learn more about how to use em.

  74. CS.either cloak first suduc or trinket it. KS. vanish. CS. wait for the pet to start suduc right when it gets to is about to cast the spell Blind so the DR goes into effect but it also cancels it. After this.. rape the lock with a easy KS. coldblood Mut. Evis combo.

    i beat locks(GOODDD LOCKS) like this every time.

  80. new update to this thingy – it simply doesnt need low ms either – dueled a rogue with 300 ms who was doing this easily .. well at least 300 is what he said to me ..

    perhaps we can say apm > ms at this point.

  89. Tbh , i just dont get how ppl find the ambush vanish sap thing so hard , its rly quite simple…
    all u have to do is ambush and vanish at the same time (press em both together) , the target doesnt get in combat and hes sapable , this can sometimes fail if ur playing against a class that returns dmg, like a druid’s thorns , mages molten armor etc..
