S.O.S week #1 4-10-09

The Rogue S.O.S is something that I will be doing every Thurs/Fri  recapping the major events relating to Roguerogue.com and Rogues in general. Sometimes it might be a top 10 list and other times it might just be a ramble about how cool DK’s are and stuff.  Whatever it is, it will be the most current  information that I feel every Rogue should be up to date on.  So without further rambling…

I find most people that know our site in the RL are usually people who know the game pretty much begins at 80 and not bragging about killing a level 45 undead mage along side some guards in Darkshire, which always makes them more interesting to talk to.  Not to mention it looks badass

Backstab Glyph Bug- Basically if you haven’t heard of this by now, I feel a bit bad for you, but you definitely  should take advantage of it for the final week. The bug has not been fixed and most likely won’t be until the Ulduar patch, which will be very soon.  The glyph is bugged with Dirty Deeds to make all damage (Poison, white damage, specials) do 20% more damage during stuns. This is especially good for Mutilate as most Shadowdance Rogues are of course already using it making that spec even more gimped after the fix. Prep, Vigor, Backstab seem to be the most favorable glyphs for a Mutilate Rogue at the moment.

<Incursus> Disbands

Incursus core has pretty much known each other since original WoW and after moving to Cho’gall every one knew it was gonna be an uphill battle.  Akrios pretty much summed up what the reasons were but there are times when you need to look out for what’s best for you instead of trying to please everyone.  Everyone seems to have received better offers and thankfully are taking them for once. Latest Rogue Patch Note and BluePost

Sinister Calling: The damage bonus to Backstab and Hemorrhage is now 2/4/6/8/10%, up from 1/2/3/4/5%.

We are currently planning to end Arena Season 5 as early as April 14, or possibly a week after this date. At that point we will go through our normal process to determine who is eligible for the end-of-season rewards. This process should take approximately one week. It’s very important for players who feel that they may be eligible for the arena-specific titles and/or Deadly Gladiator’s Frostwyrm to refrain from transferring their character to another realm until after Arena Season 5 ends.

The following Arena Season will not begin for at least one week after the current season ends. During this time between seasons, all rated matches will be turned off and only skirmishes will be available. When Arena Season 6 begins, all teams, personal rating and arena points will be wiped, but matchmaking rating and honor points will remain.

Official WoW Arena Tournament Concludes

Standings have been a bit confusing early on with the 200 game minimum rule but there is a drastic difference in class comps between US and Europe TR’s. Europe has 3 top RMP teams while U.S. squeezed by with 1 in 8th+ place. Either way congratulations to all the Rogue’s that have had success on TR and good luck in the Tournament!

BG BG BG’s- Just another reason for anyone that hates grinding AV to get cap before the patch as the good old AV marks will needed once again for the FOR GREAT HONOR quest.

Tricks of the Trade

Find yourself forgetting to use Tricks of the Trade on your partner? Try putting it on some of your longer cooldowns that don’t have globals such as Evasion/Sprint/Vanish, that way everytime you use them it will attempt to use Tricks at the same time with really no downfall. Keeping up Tricks of the Trade more in games will improve your overall damage so if you find yourself forgetting to use it a lot, heres something to try. The macro’s would go something like this…

/cast Evasion(Rank 2)
#show Tricks of the Trade
/cast [target=Partnername] Tricks of the Trade

Mouseover Blinding

If you are playing actively on a 3s or 5s team right now you should seriously consider Mouseover Blinding. I know we have listed it over in the 3.0 Macros section but with as popular as Gladius is right now there’s no reason not to at least give it a try as they work together perfectly.  You simply mouseover their name in Gladius then without mouseclicking or targeting them you press your Blind macro to Blind them. This will save you valuable time without ever having to switch targets. The follwing macro even allows you to set your focus target using the same button when you’re out of Blind range and creates no conflicts.

/cast [target=mouseover] Blind
/focus [target=mouseover]
/stopmacro [target=focus, noharm]
