Notes on the content
Duels:
Frost Mage - I made an article about predicting the blink so you can find here. Some other things to keep in mind: Try to kick the elemental whenever possible, delays on damage and the inability to nova out of stealth is great whenever possible. It’s a really good idea to do this right before you’re going for a vanish. If deep freeze is off cooldown, and you get nova’d, you’re likely to be frozen soon. It’s a good time to use a cloak or vanish here to hopefully immune it, but if you can delay this slightly the mage will be more likely to waste their deep freeze. I also find that gouging the block is pretty gamebreaking if you’re confident in your latency and reaction time. If not, spamming shiv is still probably your best bet.
As mutilate, even if you play your best, I think a top frost mage has the advantage, varying on mage and playstyle.
Rogue - Dueling Mahiko a few nights ago, the fight feels as though it’s evolving. Shadow dance rogues have the ability to sap you out of vanish, but at the same time vanishing as they trinket vanish and spamming sap will allow a mutilate rogue to sap out of vanish as well.
Priest - This was the first priest that could legitimately beat me this expansion. That being said he was playing a dwarf specced and gear to beat rogues.
What I figured out was the best strat is to cs, ks, pump a ton of damage, gouge into vanish garrote. At this point, the priest generally has to stoneform soon. When he does, it’s a good idea to cloak and cs ks again, just make sure you don’t cloak until your dr’s are up. Obviously playing undead, I would play differently but I don’t like relying on a racial to win.
I feel if you play right, the rogue should win this fight.
Protection Warrior - With PvE gear, I feel like rogues have the advantage here. Even against a geared orc warrior (probably second hardest racial behind stoneform) I felt like my losses only came when I made mistakes. A good tip here is to strafe and switch the strafe direction to juke a shockwave. Open, stunlock, rupture, vanish. Reopen, end the stunlock with a dismantle, blow cb and your cds, keep a rupture up if possible and vanish again. Do this again and the fight should be yours.

i think u just got the answer..
i think if you play by rogue, u must play by rogue – i.e. open,dmg,restealth. so you must try to exclude the possibility that you will be heavy damaged.
that’s my opinion about preference of pve gear.

Probably the best 41/5/25 Rogue video I’ve ever seen. You said your getting more into the editing, but your missing my favorite part, the dynamic camera (shakes). Those put a ton of “dramatic” effect. Anyhow, I stopped playing my rogue, currently I’m leveling a mage. But I always stop by and check out your videos. Please, continue on with your Arena and Duel Movies.
Seriously, you should start your next arena video after 3.1 which should balance a alot of the things, I would love to see some more after 3.1, Akrios and Nition.

ok, after getting home from class and installing stunwatch on my machine, it doesnt want to work right. i do any type of stun or cc and the timer read “64:31″ and the bar doesnt move. tried re-installing it 3 times. ran it w/o any mods on xcept stunwatch and just hasn’t changed it. any ideas?

I find this movie very relaxing and meditative. it playes along with the video in a very smooth way. Altough im a fan of rock mostly what you had in TBC videos but this music just breaks it…perfect. Keep them coming. Not sure if the world pvp will be such a good ideea. Players have the ensurance that in arena you fight at 2400-2500 rating and know that players there cant be noobs but a world pvp video just wont give you the same pleasure to watch as the arena ones. But who knows…we might be amased as alot of us were about your movies. GG

However, I’ve got a couple of questions:
Why are you using evasion in duels against the priest or the mage?
Does it also effect spells nowadays?

i have a macro when i prep that auto blows evasion, since it’s off the gcd there is no reason not to, incase I need to prep before using it the macro uses evasion, so long as I’m out of stealth.

gouging block = having your finger on gouge, and releasing right as you see them leave block. This is better if you are confident in your reaction speed. spamming shiv into block guarantees you will get a snare on them as they leave block.

Akrioss I was wondering what gear your wearing for 2s and 3s. It looks like your usually wearing T7.5 helm and shoulders but beyond that i’m not really sure. I play feral/rogue so I usually end up wearing goggles but most rogues above 2100 are human so it doesn’t really help.

Hey Akrios I was wondering when you vanish you seem to cheap shot immediately following the vanish, i have both vanish and cheap shot Keybinded but it seems like it still takes a Global for it to actually use cheap shot, thats if i have’nt been hit out of stealth already..is there a macro you use?

i think what idsapthat is asking about is that addon on the right – midsection of the screen that shows the effects someone is under. Example-Akrios saps a warlock and the warlock icon is replaced with a sap icon. So if anyone knows what that addon is i would also like to know. Proximo=Lame

Hi Akrios, i feel like i can play the rogue class pretty decent, my problem though is that i’m having trouble with targeting if you know what i mean. Maybe you can give me some hints? Like when you kick the elemental and then switch back in .01 sec.. I set my TAB to only target enemy players so i don’t accedentely target hunter pets / mirror image etc.
Guess i could bind but i’m running out of binds tbh..

Jim, it just depends on your energy. if you have enough energy to CB+Mut then i would say do it then if wanted Evis. Or, if you target is almost dead and you have just enough energy to evis the CB+Evis.

Hi Akrios, i feel like i can play the rogue class pretty decent, my problem though is that i’m having trouble with targeting if you know what i mean. Maybe you can give me some hints? Like when you kick the elemental and then switch back in .01 sec.. I set my TAB to only target enemy players so i don’t accedentely target hunter pets / mirror image etc.
Guess i could bind but i’m running out of binds tbh..
Btw, really liked the video, and awesome music!

I tend to hate on your movies and I don’t know if you’ll read this but there’s a potential, so I’ll post something with some criticism that you may be interested in.
Your editing is pretty great when it comes to movies and I do appreciate that, your partner and your choice of opponents tend to be pretty good which is entertaining and the clips you choose to use are very visually grabbing making your movies worth the watch. All these arena movies seem kind of choppy, they’re not really meant to be full-fledged pvp movies like your previous ones and I know the horde to alliance ratio make world pvp dead on Cho’Gall (I know it’s a full arena movie to begin with), but these tend to be drawn out and I can’t help but skipping over many of the scenes.
I think a majority of the distaste I have for this movie in particular is the resolution. Make a bigger movie so it can be seen with more clarity exactly what your doing. Your use of editing for the flashy situations is great but I always like videos I can go back and look at exactly what happened on the perspective point of view, but you can then also see the opponent clearly and what put them in the predicament.
Anyway, average movie, I suppose, gotta admit, I really skipped more of it than any other movie. The duels were pretty decent even though I’m sure that was one win of many losses against Ven. Keep up the dedication in movie making, but try to appeal to viewers more in my opinion. I know you have a pretty big cult following who for the most part are just going to say “HOLY SHITBALLS UR GOD” even before they watch the whole thing, but that’s just my two cents. GL.

Long time reader, first time poster. Anyway, amazing movie as usual. Personally I find Arena movies boring, but I enjoy yours so much I actually downloaded them, which I don’t do for any movies. Ever. Keep up the great work! Looking forward to Volume 5 and Eviscerate 10.

Hey Akrios, Long time watcher/reader, 1st time poster. I love your videos, choice of tracklist and gameplay! It’s brilliant! You’re the best thing since Grim pre-bc, keep it up!
BTW if anyone wants to know where he usually gets his music i would say either Beatport or Podcasts from Armin Van Buuren – A State Of Trance, Trance Around The World -Above & Beyond or Tiesto’s Club Life Radio 538 reason being, i know most of the songs he chooses.

Fantastic video, you’ve shown me things I never thought possible to control, such as Vanishing that death coil. Amazing job, my only question is this. When you vanish Death Coils do you do it Reactively or as more of a really well placed guess? I have been trying to perfect that skill for a while, needless to say I’m not too good at it.
never thought about trying to get back in stealth after blink normally I try to run where I think he would be and if he doesn’t blink then sprint back/vanish… thank you so much for the effort put forward and would love a commentary on one of your video’s,

Well R is my replying tab when i replies /w but well atm i got my stealth on MiddMouse and vanish on Shift+middmouse but idk i think R is a bit more handy idk rly but well it is best to follow the keys you can with out looking at your keyboard hehe but well idk?
