My last full video before WOTLK, and for a while I guess. This is mostly world pvp with some duels against well geared / skilled opponents.
I use combat mutilate spec, 41 / 20 / 0 throughout the video.
I wanted to make a pure world pvp video, something I don’t think I’ve done in a while. I wasn’t going to make a video but this was my last chance with a positional mutilate spec that I really enjoyed before this game changed, so I’m glad I finished it.
Anyway, hope you enjoy it, comments and constructive criticism are always appreciated.

Nice video Akrios, definitely had fun watching it. I really love your editing style, and the opponents (in the duels) for the most part were pretty decent-good. Plus Mut is win =P.
Also, I was wondering where you started out with movie making? Like, is there some sort of guide you read or just figured it out on your own? The guides on WCM are incomplete and old for the most part, I was wondering if you’d setup some sort of tutorial for basics or just link a good thorough, easy-to-read guide with none of the more technical things for starting on in Machinima? Thanks.

That was awesome. The duels against the warriors just had me thinking “four days till that shit aint so easy for them” That warlock is a douche. Walkin around rockin a glad tag and wont even duel a rogue straight up. As a final note, the duels against Nition were really awesome and it was a very fair and interesting way to start them. 10/10

Excellent, very entertaining.
The only thing I noticed was some odd uses of expose where I would have eviscerated or ruptured (on plate wearers, before kiting (wasted duration) etc), but that’s probably cause I’m bad.
@5 – Warriors are a terrible duelling class, there is nothing easy about being a warrior 1v1

One of the best pvp vids I’ve seen during tBC.
Great quality
Equally geared opponents in duels (for world pvp this is hard to achieve)
Music wasn’t completely my taste, except for A Perfect Circle- The Noose,
but it fit the vid very well, good job.

Seriously, Ive seen many PvP Vids, but thats the best one Ive ever seen. You’re a damn good player dude, I liked the duels against Nition, you’ve beaten him with Mutilate. I cant even play mutilate cause Ive never tried for a few hours, i gave up after like…5 minutes. Plus, Im a clicker, I dont use keybinds, so I think Ill never be as good as you guys, but DAMn nice video!

This is a good rogue PVP vid. Thats how ya’ do it. Nice job man. Mutilate will still be more reliant on positioning in the future as well, its just not going to be mandatory. Mut from the front will have a chance to be dodged, blocked or parried etc. . .so positioning will still be incredibly relevant. I know you love the mut spec Akrios. Awesome video as always. The Akrios v. Nition matches were awesome. /agree – a very fair way of starting a rogue v rogue duel.
I love watching these vids because:
1) They focus on the nail-biter, down-but-not-out fights.

@ Joe, you’re right, ganking a kara geared scrub is not difficult. However, ganking a dozen of them is quite a bit harder. The situational awareness, quick thinking, and cooldown watching required for macromanaging several enemies at once is easily on par with anything the arena can offer. The fact that he includes the battleground clips takes nothing away from video. If you prefer to see him fight 1v1 vs equally geared opponents, you’re in luck, that’s what most of the video is. If you want to see him 5v1 against equally geared opponents, too bad, people don’t generally get sunwell gear if they’re retarded, and 5 skilled players > 1 skill player, simple as that.
@ swiftkill, Shiv of Exsanguination has a top end 20 points higher than the Brutal Gladiator’s Shanker, And there’s the fact that they are of the same ilvl, but the shiv has no stat points allocated towards stamina or resilience, or, for that matter, towards hit rating, which is of limited usefulness in pvp because the cap is so low, or crit rating, which is an inferior dps stat. This means that the damage from the shiv is quite a bit higher than that of the shanker. You have 16 gear slots where you can stack all the stamina and resilience you want, but only two where you can stack damage.
@kiba, I wouldn’t call 1700 below average for most battlegroups, unless you’re in Nightfall battlegroup, where you’re an idiot if you’re under 2500, or in BG9 where a low rating just means you can’t afford to buy wins like everyone else. With the vanish trick, you just get to know when they will use the abilities. I’ve found that to understand when to expect a deathcoil/etc will come in the arena, it helps a lot to duel skilled players of that class, or, better yet, try working something out with a friend you can trust to share accounts. Knowing when *you* would use an ability gives a lot of insight into knowing when someone else would use it. Also, I assume that even Akrios doesn’t do stuff like vanishing deathcoil from melee range all the time, but those are the flashy clips, so a disproportionate number end up in the videos.
@Ihazdagg0r, The proc doesn’t necessarily make that ring so much better than everything else. For PvE, the value of the proc would be calculated by average uptime, which is around 16%, making it basically a 25 AP passive bonus. However, due to the volatile nature of PvP, you might find it proccing on your last attack before a blind, in which case the proc would be wasted. On the other hand, it might be procced by your 5 point, full energy kidney shot, which would be tremendously helpful. When it comes down to it, it’s simply RNG, somethign that we all (except warriors) tend to hate. It’s really up to you. If you know that Kalgan is there somewhere smiling down on you, go ahead and use it. But if RNG hates you, it would be better to find something else. Or, if you’re like me, and you d/c’ed 5 seconds before kael was pulled on the first and final time your guild downed him, and logged back in to find him tagged, go ahead and look for a different ring.
@keira, I entirely agree. His style of play easily surpasses the science of the LAN tourney crew, and approaches on (or even enters into) the realm of artistry. In terms of skill, the only videos as good as his, IMHO, are Voidim’s (preBC) and Pigvomit’s (now Peevee) videos (if you’re looking for good rogue videos, look elsewhere; they’re both mages). In terms of entertainment value, Akrios’s Eviscerate is easily on par with Grim’s Total Annihilation and Swifty’s Incredible Warrior Tricks.

Great video. Would be nice to see more rogue vs. rogue tactics, maybe even with you talking through the tactics/rotations and what you would do to react to situations. this is how people improve. Otherwise, your really doing a sterling job. Cant wait for number 10
. I personally, as an arena-ing rouge am just trying to copy your ability use/movement, cant understand how you and other top rogues ive seen dash around the place, but im working on it.
