RogueRogue 2v2 Video
As some of you know, Akrios and I have been looking to make a video showing the RogueRogue 2v2 Comp in action. However, prior to the start of Season 4 queing up wasn’t exactly the priority of the top competition. That being said, we have scrapped all of our Season 3 Clips and will be making the video this season entirely out of Season 4 content.
With this video, we want to show the strengths of the Comp and strategies we use to make it successful. While it is definetly not the strongest comp in the game, it has very few hard counters (much less than most 2v2 teams I’ve been on) and is by far the most fun to play. The nerf to Cheat Death will very minimally affect this comp as well, considering if either one of the Rogues is at the point where they are Cheating Death the fight is already over. At this point, it is to early to speculate a release date for the video, so I’m going to quote Blizzard on this one and say "When it’s ready." =)
This week we have only been able to que one night – but managed to get from 1500 to 1968, before we started getting 1 point teams and stopped. After buying Brutal Gloves and Helm (for looks of course), I was left with 2k remaining points from the 5k I had saved up. Come server reset, I am looking to be at 2050 rating and buy the Brutal Mainhand once I get the additional 625 Arena Points…as my hopes of a Main Hand Warglaive have been long gone for quite sometime now lol.

Great that the FAQ is finally open. for now there is no question i really wanted to know but it will grow up with time.
I just was thinking about 1 thing i read at FAQ. u said u are active in your guild raids. If that’s true why not use dual warglaives considerating that u use hemo spec? And another thing… u use a combination of pvp gear with pve. I think u should just use T6. why? I’ve tryed to use S3,S4 and T6 and is just a small amount of resilence and T6 got a huge amount of AP and i prefer AP instead resilence cause i always do more damage. Why dont u just premeditation,cheapshot,hemo,hemo,kidney,hemo hemo hemo,gouge,vanish…..or something like that. My spec is a bit diferent than urs(17/0/44) cause i really dont care about the talents that improve my poisons. i just use poisons like deadly(cause it breaks blind) in raids and instant poison i just use against warriors or something like that. I like ur pvps. I think u’re skilled rogues but there are somethings that i dont understand. IF u just spam hemos why improve ur poisons? that 3 talent points that u waste in “vile poisons” i prefer to waste in “master of subtlety”. why? cause of the stun lock… it will increase ur damage with hemo for 6 seconds. and it will make a huge difference while that poisons that u put will just be a damn sh*t if u want to blind.

31 Illidan kills no main hand warglaives for us, I’m gonna assume you were genuine with that question and it wasn’t just a cruel joke lol.
We do usually lean towards more pve gear however there are some pieces of pve gear that just have a lot of hit and no stamina so we prefer to use the PvP pieces for the increased crit/attack power.

that’s why I talked about T6. U c.. S4 is about armor+stamina+resilence and T6 got more AP and other things. And no it wasnt a cruel joke
. Man just try again and again… u have nothing to lose. And it will improve ur performance for sure 
. even in raids dual glaives will be better cause of the (+200 AP against demons). But i was seeing akrios gear. he is cool in almost everything. 5/8 T6. cool. I think 4/8 would be enough just to get the second set that T6 gives. after that u could use a 3/8 S4 as u use for +35 resilence but u should put a different head than S4 or T6. Sargeras helm for exemple dropped in illidan (+AP). I know rogue is not just about AP. i like hit rating too on my rogue,crit chance,agility… But as said I use Full T6. But this is just my opinion. My set works with me. If urs work with you fine. We are all trying to learn something. But u didnt say nothing about the vile poisons… and that man… I really dont get it. I mean.. what’s the point? in a raid.. k.. is cool Deadly poison increased is a big improve but in arena dont u prefer crippling and wound poison? And no ne of them does damage… so i think vile poisons is really a waste of 3 talent points. But oh well. As I always say: It is your ass not mine.

^ It’s the not the dmg from Vile you are after, it’s the dispell resist.

I prefer master of subtlety cause it gives + dmg.dispell resist? why do u need it? lol it is really hard to dispell the poisons so as i said before. waste of talents. u prefer +dispell resist or +dmg(u will finish ur opponents faster) ?

You can’t dmg you’re opponent if he gets away from you. Plus the wounding woison will stick easier. As said before, Master of sub is pretty much only good versus other rogues and really badly geared people. Any warrior, shaman, druid, disc priest, pala won’t even flinch from that marginal extra damage that master of sub gives. If you calculate on how much extra dmg it gives during a whole arena game my bet is that Murder is a better talent from that view.

I played retail for 3 years and yes now I play in a private server but that dont means a damn thing. Players in privates aren’t better than player in official and players in official aren’t better than players in private.
Is the private easyer? Yes it is.. It is a high-rate server. But as u must know ascent is bugged so privates dont got S3 or S4. So.. I only can use T6 even If i wanted 1 of the others. but i tryed both in an account of 1 of my arena partners that still playing and the damage is smaller than with T6. And in privates rogues are bugged. we dont got cheat death cause is bugged, if healers start a heal and u kidney shot them they finish the heal anyway. sometimes blind… dont blind… u can walk to where u want. So i dont got any advantage from playing in a private server. I dont even got dual warglaives
I got main glaive and shard of azzinoth(yea I know is too slower for a off-hand. i am working on that but even this beeing high rate most of times illi dont drop the warglaives. And omg I dont fight only against full geared players but I dont fight only against low geared players so I guess if my spec works… there are 2 chances… or a more than 100 000 players(cause the damn server should got all this) are all noobs or man… my spec works cause it’s good. And i am going for the second 1. No-one as the right to judge me cause I play in a private server and I hope that’s clear. there are no better gears than in official. A lot of the drops are bugged as most of throwns and thinks like that. Why did I stop playing official? first of all. I am no longer all the time in computer so there is no reason to pay 1 month if I don’t even play 1 hour a day now. Swipe u said i can’t dmg my opponent if he gets away.. thats right. that’s why exist cheapshot and kidney shot and u think… they can use the trinket to take out stun. u damn right.. that’s why Exists blind and vanish and preparation and all that damn cooldowns. I am not afraid of waste all my cooldowns in a single target if she gets dead. but most of times in cloth,leather and mail users I only need to cheapshot once,kidney once and blind/vanish once. and u think again: they should got a noob gear. And u’re wrong… cause they got a Full T6 most of times and my gear is not even full T6. is just 5/8 but I can crit things like 4k hemorage on cloth with no buffs and without using shadowstep. and the damage is not bugged in the server. I checked it a lot of times cause i wouldnt play in that server if it was bugged. and are the other classes bugged? not really… just hunters and I cant understand why so many rogues fear survival hunters cause.. omfg.. there is why rogue got crippling poison and sprint.
I got 4 years of rogue play and that don’t means i am better than anyone here but wtf u trying to say when u ask me: you play on a private server or what?
omg…I dont play in a server with noob gms who make gears like ,T7,T8,T9,T10 and all that things.
if the point of this site is discuss about what is better(private or official) i think i am losing my time. If the point is lets try to learn something from here. Lets try to make ALL rogues better i am in the right place.

Hey guys,
I just wanted to ask what are your main counter-comps and what do the two of you tend to work on together in order to beat these teams. I’ve seen you guys in arenas here and there, was happy to beat Akrios before the two of you got back together. I may or may not be sticking to this BG, so, if not, GL guys and I will be checking the website regularly, as I do enjoy it quite a lot.

If you want to make your points valid and clear, I suggest you use a more intelligent way of saying things. This high level of slang and pure ‘gangsta’ talk makes you sound really really ’smart’. When people have to read things twice because of grammar, it’s tiring. Jexy just asked if you did.
As for what I read. Most of it is just rants about how you’re equal to people who play on retail. Please stick to the point about how master>vile.
The amount of damage increased is equal to the amount of damage that a ShS gives you. During that 8 second stun period (if kidney works) 75% of that time is +10% damage. 10% damage on a normal hemo with someone at s3-s4 gear is about +70-80 damage on a non-crit. In 6 seconds, assuming your MH is 2.6 and your OH is 1.4, and you get 3-4 hemos in during that time (half second cool down, correct me if I’m wrong please, and energy regen time) You will hit with your MH 2 times in 6 seconds and your OH 4 times. Even with the hemo buff, your damage on your MH is still only 500-800 if you’re s3-s4, and your OH will be null at like 100-200(250). So 3-4 hemos at around 700+70(10%), and MH at 650+65, OH at 150+15. If my math is correct, you have an extra 400 damage if you don’t crit at all.
Last time I checked, a warrior with 13000 HP. 400 damage is null to them, they can recover more than that with a second wind.
Now honestly. At 8 16 24 32 40% reduced chance for dispel poisons. That’s something to be looking at. Because the only way a rogue can kite, or keep up to almost any class in the game is through a MH crippling, assume you don’t have a warrior running around spamming hamstring, or a warrior with concussion. Also a 5 stack wound>400 extra damage, cause when a priest sticks mending on himself, you’re looking at +400 HP healed right there. I’d rather them try to dispel it, and have some insurance that they might not dispel my poisons, than have an extra 400 damage.
Then talk about your stun rotation, and how you can stealth twice to get +800 damage. Trinket. Undead has WotF. Warriors have so many escapes it’s sickening. Any smart player will know that you’re going to CS>KS>Blind>CS>KS, and they’re not going to let you do that. Assuming that the team isn’t ’scrub’ as you blatantly state that everyone on your private is pro, their partner is going to come break you. You’re not the only one with CC, and rogues under CC = GG.
In all, the chance to not have your extremely valuable MS debuff, your slow (Cause I know the first thing someone will do to a rogue is fear/kite) to not be dispelled, I’d pick that WAY over 400 extra damage.
Oh and if you want some approximate math to your ‘partially full, but not so much full’ T6 gear. Unless you have 4k+ AP. You’re still looking at Anything in PvE exclude prot/some resto classes.

Also, the fact that you said most people don’t have res, cause they don’t ‘have’ seasons on your private, you should already know that rogues eat things without resil cause we do have amazing crit. It’s already a known fact that rogue>Anything in PvE exclude prot/some resto classes.

u talked about my stunlock. well. first of all the first thing i am going to do after the 1st kidney shot is not blind the target i am attacking. in arena 2 vs 2 i will blind is partner i will vanish and i will CS the target I was attacking before. So there will be no partner who can help him and in a 2 vs 1 the target i was attacking will die before blind fades. oh and i didnt say everyone in my server is pro

Just to finish this cause… the point of this topic is not a open discussion about what you think is better i want to say that.. you got 5 months of official. i’ve got 3 years of official and 1 year of private. If the spec I use atm worked for 3 years tell me why should I change it now? I kileld people with this spec in official and i kill peopel with this spec in private. i am not going to change something that makes me win.

Me (disc/holy priest) and my arena partner (hunter and warrior) keep getting destroyed by rogue/rogue. ITs really the only team combo that has given us any trouble what so ever so far in S2.
Getting stunlocked out of my 12k HP plus whatever my renew and Gift heals for along with the bubble is a tad rediculous.

You are on a private server with no pvp gear. How on earth do you expect anyone to take you seriously? TBC came out in January 07 so that means you mainly played on live when TBC wasn’t even out yet.
And you are retarded for challenging someone to a duel. Are you really that dumb? If you knew anything about pvp you’d know that 1v1 means nothing whatsoever.
You have had no comebacks to Senpaidesta’s posts. He has presented facts that support your specc being the worse.

You’re on a private server. You’re in PvE gear.
Last time I checked. PvP gear is DESIGNED for PvP. PvE gear is DESIGNED for PvE.
Rogues have enough survivability without res, so they can play around with their gear.
But point being.
I have actual numbers. I took some time to figure things out.
You play on a private server with zero res.
And really. If you had a spec like that PreBC. For the last THREE years? 10 points less. You’re looking at a really bad spec there.

I can guarantee you that any spec is viable at ~1300 rating.
My 3s team was at 1900. People at 1900+ are smart.
Now I’m grinding with all the 2200+ rating teams cause s4 is out.
If you’ve been playing private server for what more than a year?
Did you go through s2 even? I know you missed s3, and now s4.
Go play on a regular server right now. Try your spec. Watch your arena rating be <1500.

Ya I think it’s already been said but pretty much the reason for vile over master of sub is that having poisons be dispelled in arena means infinitely more than a small burst at the beginning. Even playing double dps, you aren’t going to be bursting someone down in the first 15 seconds against most teams.
Not much I can say that hasn’t already been said. I can see master of sub being better for 1v1s against certain classes or in scenarios without dispels, but generally in arena there isn’t really a contest between the two talents.
I don’t know much about private servers but I will say that this game has changed immensely since mid S1, people are generally a lot more knowledgeable about their classes, games last longer. Burst talents like master of sub or even lethality mean less and less, and utility talents have become more integral. In a 5 minute 2v2 game, the difference between maintaining a 4 stack wound or 5 stack wound could be the difference of 20k damage as opposed to the 2k you might gain from master of sub, assuming crit, all openers work, and no cc.
Vile really becomes even stronger as you play 3s and 5s, as that 50 percent debuff represents a ton of heals from 2 or 3 healers. That’s why a lot of rogues go (or used to before the changes to shs) deep poison mutilate, its due to the realization of the importance of poisons over damage.
Aerilfirth – we’ll be posting all our strats in a compilation when this vid is done, and this will include a full guide. But off the bat I can tell you that pally warrior, rogue druid, rogue mage are the most common comps we have difficulty with. There are others that are hard but aren’t as common (sham warrior, sham rogue, etc)
