FAQ Section

We are happy to announce that the Frequently Asked Questions section is now available! You can view it by clicking the link at the top of the page labeled "FAQ" or by visiting here. With the numerous amount of e-mail’s we have been receiving we have started to notice a trend where we would be answering the same exact question over and over. In this section, we will be answering these popular questions from you guys. Our main goal is to be able to answer a question you might have had without the delay of waiting for us to repond.

If by chance our FAQ section does not have the answer to the question you are looking for, feel free to visit our feedback page. Or send us an email at feedback@roguerogue.com. Who knows, your question might end up there as well!

Please Note:  All email’s and private messages we receive will ALWAYS remain annonymous when posting in our FAQ Section. Anytime a name is included with the question, it has already been asked publicly through our website.

RogueRogue 2v2 Video

As some of you know, Akrios and I have been looking to make a video showing the RogueRogue 2v2 Comp in action. However, prior to the start of Season 4 queing up wasn’t exactly the priority of the top competition. That being said, we have scrapped all of our Season 3 Clips and will be making the video this season entirely out of Season 4 content.

With this video, we want to show the strengths of the Comp and strategies we use to make it successful. While it is definetly not the strongest comp in the game, it has very few hard counters (much less than most 2v2 teams I’ve been on) and is by far the most fun to play. The nerf to Cheat Death will very minimally affect this comp as well, considering if either one of the Rogues is at the point where they are Cheating Death the fight is already over. At this point, it is to early to speculate a release date for the video, so I’m going to quote Blizzard on this one and say "When it’s ready." =)

This week we have only been able to que one night – but managed to get from 1500 to 1968, before we started getting 1 point teams and stopped. After buying Brutal Gloves and Helm (for looks of course), I was left with 2k remaining points from the 5k I had saved up. Come server reset, I am looking to be at 2050 rating and buy the Brutal Mainhand once I get the additional 625 Arena Points…as my hopes of a Main Hand Warglaive have been long gone for quite sometime now lol.

2.4.3 Notes Out, Cheat Death Nerfed

Wednesday, June 18th, 2008

Quick update. Not that we all didn’t see this coming, but:

Rogue

* Cheat Death: This talent has been rebalanced significantly. Killing blows are no longer 100% absorbed. If the Rogue is below 10% health, the killing blow is still completely absorbed; if the Rogue is over 10% health, enough damage will be absorbed to reduce the Rogue’s health down to 10%. For the following 3 seconds, damage is not always reduced by 90%; it is now reduced by a maximum of 90%, depending on how much resilience the Rogue has. The damage reduction will be four times the damage reduction resilience causes against critical strikes.

The first part isn’t that large a change. The majority of cheat death procs occur at or below 10 percent health. Althought the occasional 3 k mortal strike, 5k P.O.M meatball or NS Chain lightning is absorbed at a high amount of health, this is rarer than one might think.

The scaling of cheat death to resilience is brought in to start to curb the issue of rogues not needing resilience in arena due to excellent survivability. At 100 resilience in pvp gear, cheat death will only reduce damage taken by 20 percent for 3 seconds now. I don’t see rogues going back to full resilience gear to suit this change, but expect them to wear at least the 2 piece set bonus and hover around 200 resilience.

What does this really mean though? Shadowstep will remain by far the strongest arena build. Rogues will continue to invest points into cheat death. With the amount of survivability gained though 2 evasions, 2 vanishes, cloak of shadows, and other escape mechanisms such as sprint, rogues will remain slippery. If they have pve gear, they will continue to use it regardless of the change.

All in all, it’s a fair change to a talent that was overpowered, but in the end not much will be extremely different. I expect rogues with other dps assisting to focus other rogues more often though, as a stunlock that used to be survived with a cheat death will likely not be survived in the future.

Eviscerate 8: Apocalypse

Eviscerate 8: Apocalypse from Akrios on Vimeo.

Warcraftmovies Link for Filefront Download:

http://warcraftmovies.com/movieview.php?id=79255

My 8th movie is out.

What to expect:

- World PvP

- Mutilate

- 1v1s against high quality opponents

- Plot

I HIGHLY suggest downloading the video, as the stream is always inferior quality. There should be a HQ WCM stream soon which is the best option if you choose to stream.

I’ve been working on this video for about a month and a half, just finished up filming and editing this weekend. Unlike my previous movies, I incorporated some plot to it. It’s also longer, and I personally feel its better edited than my work in the past.

About half of the 1v1s were arranged. I’m going to note here again that Alexandra won the majority of the duals, as did tipss, although they were mostly very close.

I use grenades and potions in “against the odds” situations. If this is a problem for you don’t watch the video.

Akira Yamaoka – Memory of Waters
Immediate Music – Gothic Power
John Newton Howard – The Orange Man
Sensation White – Anthem (2004)
Metallica – For Whom the Bell Tolls
Kamelot – Rule the World
Adema – Immortal
Ernesto vs Bastien – Super Jupiter
Immediate Music – Avenger
Erik Satie – Gympnopedie No. 1

In regards to my current feelings on mutilate, I think it’s very much a viable spec, but unfortunately shadowstep is generally superior in every pvp situation. That doesn’t mean mutilate won’t work, but what really hurts mutilate the most is other shadowstep rogues, because openers are so key in arena. WOTLK makes mutilate look extremely promising, so hopefully there is light at the end of the tunnel.

If you have any questions, the best way would be to either pm me on warcraft movies or just email me at feedback@roguerogue.com, I will get back to you, as it’s sometimes hard to respond to in game tells.

WOTLK Rogue Talents Revealed

Thursday, June 12th, 2008

The most recent WOTLK patch has included Rogue talents. The following list is a breakdown on each of these new and exciting talents.

**Please note these are not set in stone and if they are overpowered I’m sure they will get nerfed to the proper level Blizzard is looking for them to be.

***Any time you see a bunch of characters such as %h#@ it means it is an unknown time or percent. These numbers will be updated as soon as they become available.

UPDATES 6/14/08

-Listed all talents by which Talent Tree they are under.
-Added full list of Assassination Talents/Abilites.
-Removed Raid descriptions from talents that were under speculation on which tree they were listed in, but ended up being deep in Subtlety.
-Added numerous percents which were previously unknown.
-Talent Calculator removed due to Blizzard’s request, new one will be posted as soon as possible.
-Added *CHANGED* to current Talents that have been altered in WoTLK.

Your comments are always appreciated, I will try to keep this up to date as possible. Thanks

ASSASSINATION TALENTS

Deadly Brew (Requires 30 points in Assassination Talents) 0/2

"When you apply Instant, Wounding or Mind-Numbing poison to a target, you have a $h% chance to apply a second poison"

Instant -> Deadly
Wounding -> Crippling
Mind-Numbing -> Crippling"

This is something that Rogues have been needing for quite some time now. Although I wish that there was something added onto Crippling Poison such as a chance to proc Wound, I’m definitely not complaining.

By having a Wound Poison have a chance to apply your Crippling Poison, Rogues should see a significant reduction in how many times they need to Shiv to keep a player locked down. For raiding, double Instant Poison with the chance to apply Deadly each time it procs, might end up out performing Windfury giving Rogues much more versatility in raids as far as what group they are in. Mind Numbing having the chance to proc Crippling will be an amazing upgrade in Mage duels, as well as Rogues that play on Warrior/Rogue/Druid 3v3 teams due to the Mortal Strike debuff already being on the target.

Devious Poisons (Requires 35 points in Assassination Talents) 0/2

"Increases the damage caused by your Instant Poison and Deadly Poison by 10%. In addition, when your target you’ve poisoned is healed or cured, there is a 50% chance the poison afflicts the healer."

This will finally bring Envenom into PvP. Coupled with Deadly Brew, it will bring variety to which poisons Rogues can use without completely sacrificing Wound/Crippling.

Focused Attacks (Requires 40 points in Assassination Talents) 0/3

"Your melee critical strikes have a 30% chance to give you 1/2/3 energy."

Similar to Combat Potency, a proc based energy regen that will work well (more…)
