The following is a list of mods that I would consider almost essential to playing a Rogue in both raiding and arena. Of course it is possible to play with the default Blizzard UI, but I firmly believe that there is no reason not to give yourself every advantage available in WoW, and expect other players to do the same. The best, safe mod sites:
General
Natur – Everything you need in a cast bar mod. Tells you about enemy casts, buffs, debuffs, and comes with a built in stun timer that is highly customizable. One of the most essential mods in WoW.
Scrolling Combat Text – Is this mod necessary? No, but it is still considerably better than the Blizzard scrolling combat text. This basically gives you the ability to make the combat text look exactly the way you want it to, going as far as customizable fonts.
Omni CC - OmniCC is an addon that adds text to items/spells/abilities that are on Cooldown to indicate when they’ll be ready for use once again. Specificity is integral in both PvE and PvP, as you want to manage and use your Cooldowns at the right time.
PvP
Proximo – The best current arena mod. Gives you detailed information about your opponents with a simple mouseover. It allows you to set a focus target with a single click, and target players by clicking their names. Also shows the current health and mana of opponents which is important for keeping an understanding of everything that’s happening in a game. Customizable.
PvE Centered Mods
Deadly Boss Mods – A seemless compilation of mods and timers for all of the bosses in WoW.
Violation – My favorite set of damage / healing / etc meter mods. Simple and easy to use.
Omen – My favorite threat meter of those currently available.
Helpful But Unnecessary Mods
Trinket Menu – Manage and automatically switch trinkets. Great for world PvP / duels, or if you have “use” trinkets. When I use this Addon, I make the following macros:
Trinket slot 1 use – /use 13
Trinket slot 2 use – /use 14
Energy Watch – I believe Natur has a built in Energy meter now, but this is good for Rogue or Feral Druids. Energy regens at a steady pulse of every 2 seconds whether or not you are at full energy. This mod tells you when your energy is about to regen, so if you open at this time you can gain energy early. This can help your energy cycles throughout an entire fight. Not only is it effective during initial openers in pvp, but it can also help later in fights when saving energy for kicks and other abilities, or reopening after a blind. In pve, it can tell you when you should use abilities before switching targets and when you should conserve energy.
MoveIt – Move any Addon, including Blizzard UI.
Quest Helper – Amazing mod for leveling. Think of it as adding Wowhead directly into your game. Made especially for people like me, who are terrible at leveling.
Xperl Unit Frames – If you want a unit frame mod, this is a solid one.
Quartz – A core castbar mod that allows you to set a focus.
eCasting Bar – Another castbar that allows you to set a focus.

2. Change the Account, Server, and Character folders in the WTF folder to the names of your own Account, Server and Character.
3. Replace your current Interface folder with the one in the download.

*I personally do not use Discord unit frames, so I have no idea if the ones in this package still work, as I doubt they do. Simply disable Discord unit frames and Discord unit frame option by selecting the “Addons” button at the bottom left of your Character selection screen, and then taking off the “check mark.”
Photek – an awesome UI pack. Really slick looking.
A majority of these mods are lightweight, and will not consume a ton of resources or cause lag while using them. When possible, you should try to use mods labeled “ace2″, as these cause the least latency.

I’ve been playing wow/my rogue for 3 years now and I’ll second these recommendations as well. These are also a couple of helpful addons for rogues as well if it helps anyone:
Cartographer – useful just cuz you can move with ASDW while map is open and you can see if you’re being readily attacked.
Poisoner – puts a small circle at your minimap. Scroll over it and a small rectangle appears with all your poisons. Left click for MH apply, right click for OH apply. Saves yourself a macro if you use them, and is extremely simple to use.
Range Recolor – reds the entire box if you can’t use it, that way you can tell without looking at the skill box if you’re in range or not.
SSPVP2 – battleground timers, autojoin/queue, timer till gates open, score sheet recoloring of names, and plenty of other features. Takes up a bit of memory though, but really cool.
WIM – Wow instant messenger. Makes it a little easier to manage tells, especially with tabs.

iv played rogue now for a long time,but realy done pvp,and when i do i just suck big time imo,i use wasd to control my char and mouse at the bottums,is it not good ? ore is it simpel a ? about practis for a long time, i use the addons most of u right x-peal and bongos2 ect.btw ur mowies just ruels ,respect from a big fan.

A pretty neat addon I used is called “Jim’s Cooldown Pulse.” It really is just for the purposes of making things look cool, but when an ability coolsdown, it displays a picture of it somewhere on your screen where you set it. I make a large picture over the center of my screen thats transparent, that way if you don’t happen to look down at your action bar, you can see instantly when a cooldown is finished so you can pop it again.

Great UI and awesome mods. Just wondering here but what are your keybindings if you dont mind sharing? Trying to make the change from clicking and cant seem to find a way to set mine up decently. Also if you use any extra peripherals (i.e. nostromos speed pad). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I haven’t found a new mod similar to natur that seemed effective yet, If I do i’ll update this article with it.

Hey, I love the look of your UI but when I downloaded it, the WTF folder only came with the Account folder inside, without the character and server folders. So when I loaded the UI in WoW, the bars were all messed up. Could you either email me the full thing at c.lyndee@hotmail.com or update the filefront rar again?

Hey, ive downloaded the Ui from Akrios and its very nice. But I got one problem. I use the Addon eCastingBars for my Rogue and my Druid. When i play with my Rogue, its all okay, the casting bar shows first, when i summon a mount or something. But with my druid, I always see the casting bars, even when I dont cast. How can I make them invisible, so that I only see em when I summon/spell something ?

Whenever I join a group/raidgroup, a white square appears in the middle of my screen. I dont know which Addon it is, but it must be one XD When you know, what it is and how I can solve the problem, tell me plx, it would be very nice ^^

of the minimap is in the middle where it schould be

Hello . I downloaded UI, and i am using it atm . It’s pretty good, but there is few questions i have to ask . First of all, when i am not in arena, Proximo is not working and i cant see my current target ( when i mouseover i am seeing name, guild and green bar with HP ) but i want when i click to see target frame next to main . Second – my health isnt moving when i am damaged, its staying at full always so i cant understand when i am close to death . Help meh

Mmm, I’ve use the discord art textures from chat and minimap and I put it on Eepanels2 cause it’s more easy for me to change settings using that addon. But i’ve got a problem, the inside from chat texture have’s a white border and external minimap texture have it too, look it:

Akrios, with your damage font did you just make a Fonts folder in the WoW directory with the Adventure style font or is that SCTD? I’ve been trying to get Adventure to work when I make the fonts folder but I just can’t get it to work.

A new pack with updated and functional addons if you’ve made or found any that you’re currently using would be awesome to say the least. I’m kinda computer retarded myself and UI’s are the worst crap I hate when trying to fix things to my liking ………

With akiros’s interface i get a thick white border around both my chat and combat log, and my screen is small so i kinda need my ui scale to be @ 100%, but doing that causes the map to expand vertically :p Help! :<

if he doesnt respond then he doesnt have time to upgrade or he just doesnt want to update guys….you have the basics to his UI now create your own with your style..just because u have their UI doenst mean that u are going to be like him peace out
